Canadian fishing trip changes life, $285,000 settlement

Our client, 46 years old, was seriously injured when he was thrown out of a 16’ fishing boat being driven by his friend, while they were on a fishing trip in Canada. Our client was then run over by the propeller and suffered serious injuries and scarring to his head, face, mouth, shoulder and hand. Attorney Paul Downes settled this claim against the boat insurance for $285,000.

Woman Shatters Leg When Struck By Pick-Up Truck On Icy Road, $250,000 settlement

Our client, a 33 year-old woman, was hit by a pick-up truck towing a trailer. The driver lost control of his vehicle on an icy road. The dashboard collapsed on the woman’s leg, breaking it in three places. Her injuries required immediate surgery. The case was settled before trial for $250,000.

Construction site accident settled for $181,500

Our client, a heavy equipment operator for the City of Minneapolis, was walking to his truck at a jobsite. He was struck by a large water tank truck while it was backing up at a construction project near the intersection of 50th Street and Nokomis Parkway in Minneapolis. Our client was knocked to the ground but was able to roll out of the way to avoid being run over by the water tank truck. Our client sustained permanent injuries to his neck, back and arm. Paul Downes settled his case against the trucking company for a significant but confidential amount.
