MINNEAPOLIS - The labor department is expected to report Friday that the unemployment rate remains unchanged at 9.7 percent. Employers added 200,000 jobs last month. Adults aren't the only ones looking for work.
Many teens are hunting for summer jobs but there are a few things they should know before starting work.
Under Minnesota law, kids under 14 cannot be employed unless they work in certain areas like newspaper carrier or athletic referee. Teens under 16 cannot work before 7 a.m. or after 9 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the school year.
