When lawyers need legal advice or representation outside their specialty, which of their colleagues do they call? To whom do they send their loved ones for legal matters they can't handle themselves? Duluth-Superior Magazine sent a survey to area lawyers asking those questions. The votes are in, and the results are below.
We organized the list by category - bankruptcy, estate, criminal defense and so on. When more than one name appears under any given specialty, it means there was a tie in voting. Also, a few lawyers earned the top spot in more than one category.
Here, then, is the first annual list of the best of the best in the legal profession in the Northland, chosen by their peers….

He was also the first attorney in Duluth certified as a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, consisting of approximately 700 of the most successful attorneys in America. Paul has also been chosen for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice. He received his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.
