Wrongful Death

A wrongful death is caused by negligence, malpractice, recklessness, or inaction. Car accidents, mesothelioma (an illness caused by asbestos exposure), medical malpractice, and job site accidents are all examples of situations in which a wrongful death lawsuit may be appropriate. The families of the victim may file wrongful death personal injury claims on behalf of the loved one they lost. These are civil suits with no criminal charges; they are filed to help family members obtain damages for the amount of wages lost, medical bills incurred, and loss of comfort, aid, society, and companionship.
