Excavator Hit in Head, $150,000 Settlement for Neck Injury

Settlement/Verdict: $150,000.00

Attorney: Cory P. Whalen
Practice Area: Worker Injury
Client Injury: Neck Injuries

Our client ran an excavating business in Minnesota. While on a jobsite another sub-contractor negligently threw a heavy steel ring that struck our client in the head. Despite having worn a hard hat and following all safety rules, our client sustained a significant neck injury. Just prior to the expiration of the six year statute of limitations, the client retained our law firm to pursue his legal entitlements. It was recommended that the client have surgery to repair his injured neck. The defense disputed the nature and extent of the neck injuries given that the client had not aggressively treated with a medical doctor. The case was resolved by Cory Whalen at mediation after extensive litigation in the amount of $150,000.
