Attorney: Susan M. Holden
Practice Area: Railroad Crossing Accident
Client Injury: Death
Our client's 28 year old husband was tragically killed when his vehicle collided with a train at a crossing in suburban Twin Cities. He was survived by his young wife and children, and his death was an enormous loss for his family. The view of trains at the crossing where this collision occurred was obstructed by trees and an embankment. There was no stop sign or warning lights at the crossing; the crossing was marked only by crossbuck signs. The approaching train collided with the vehicle as it traveled over the crossing and our client's husband was killed instantly. Claims were litigated against the railroad and a municipality that maintained the roadway leading to the crossing. The claims were settled before trial on a confidential basis.
