Pharmacy Filled Prescription at Wrong Dose Causing Brain Injury to Infant

$600,000

Litigation Type - Medication Errors

Client Injury - Brain Injury

Our clients were a mother and father and their infant son. A hospital pharmacy filled a prescription for the child at 100 times the dose ordered. This resulted in a brain injury to the child. The hospital was owned by a municipality which had no insurance and relied upon the governmental immunity law to limit their exposure to $300,000.00.

The settlement was $600,000.00 with one limit for the parents and one for the child.
