Motorcycle Passenger Requires Fusion Surgery After Collision
Our 73-year-old female client was riding as a helmeted passenger on a motorcycle operated by her friend when the friend rear-ended another motorcycle that was stopped in the roadway waiting for oncoming traffic to clear before turning left. Our client was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway, suffering non-displaced fractures in her neck, fractures to an ankle, and dislocation of a shoulder. Fusion surgery was necessary to fix the neck fractures which left her with limited motion of her neck and head, and chronic pain.
Settlement consisted of the limits of the driver’s motorcycle liability coverage, umbrella insurance coverage, and $30,000 from the left turning vehicle.
