Our client was injured due to the negligence of an 18 wheeler. She was traveling on the Interstate at 55mph because the weather was bad and the roads were a bit slippery. A semi-truck hauling a load of hogs came up behind her traveling over the speed limit and rear-ended her vehicle. She was able to keep her vehicle from shooting off the highway after the impact but there was severe damage to her vehicle.  The truck driver was cited for inattentive driving.

A 20 year old woman was killed when her car was hit by a semi that ran a red light at an intersection. She was rushed to Mayo Clinic in Rochester where they spent 2 days in an attempt to keep her alive. She ultimately died of cerebral traumatic injuries. Medical costs for those two days were over $75,000.

Our client attended a Halloween party at her friend's house. She was standing next to her car when she was hit by a drunk driver. She was pinned between her car and the car that hit her and was seriously injured. As a result of injuries to her leg, her leg was amputated.

Our client went to her local Emergency Room with complaints of decreased sensation in her perineum and feet as well as low back pain. She was discharged home on pain medications. The following day our client went to the Emergency Room of a larger hospital with the same but worsening complaints. She was again discharged home on pain medications. The next day she returned to the second Emergency Room with worsening symptoms: she was barely able to walk and had urinated herself. An MRI of her lower spine was ordered, but was not done for 16 hours. The MRI revealed an epidural abscess with psoas and para-spinal muscle abscesses that were surgically addressed.

Our client was a young girl who had a tumor in her pelvis that went undiagnosed for a period of 3½ months due to a misread MRI scan. The delay caused the cancer to become worse requiring more extensive treatment.

Our client was traveling on his motorcycle northbound on West River Road in Minneapolis. As he approached the intersection of West River Road and West Broadway, he noticed that the stop light was red. Our client stopped at the intersection and waited until the light turned green.

A man riding a motorcycle was struck without warning by a 15-passenger van when the van driver ran a red light.  The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital but did not survive his injuries. 

Our client was driving her car on her way to work. As she proceeded through an intersection on a green light, a young man turned in front of her and collided with her. Our client sustained a fractured right ankle and femur and also sustained a severe scalp laceration.

Our client and her husband were out for their routine morning walk in early September. They took the same route almost every morning for the past six years. It was just before dawn and they were walking toward traffic as the law requires them to do. The shoulder was 8 feet wide and paved. At that same time, a young man was riding his bicycle as part of his morning workout routine and was traveling with traffic, as required by law. Unfortunately, the bicyclist did not see our client walking and he crashed head on into her. The force of the impact threw our client 10-15 feet backwards and the bicyclist ended up in the ditch. Our client was taken to Regions Hospital by ambulance and the bicyclist was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian and for not having a light on his bicycle.

This case arose out of an automobile collision that occurred at an intersection when a driver ran a stop sign and broadsided a vehicle operated by our 38 year old client. She suffered serious injuries, pelvic fractures and a femur fracture that required surgery. Her facial injuries were repaired and reconstructed by a plastic surgeon but at the time of trial she still had facial disfigurement and needed further surgery.
