The Taco Bell Drive Thru Mystery
Video shows how Art Kosieradzki solves the case
A man pulls into a Taco Bell drive-thru, places his order but never makes it to the pick up window. Instead, his car suddenly accelerates across the restaurant parking lot, sails over a berm, jumps curbs and islands in an adjacent parking lot, and finally smashes into the wall of a grocery store some 450 feet away.
The man is found unconscious, seated upright, still buckled in with the air bag deployed. He dies a short time later from a fracture to the base of the skull leaving behind a wife and three small children.
Investigators find no evidence of mechanical failure, and no signs of seizure or other medical condition that could explain the sudden acceleration. The medical examiner calls the manner of death “undetermined,” not sure if it was an accident or suicide.
The life insurance company refuses to pay out on the man’s policy claiming it was a suicide. The widow comes to our partner, Art Kosieradzki, for help.
To Art, the insurance company’s claim didn’t add up. “Who goes to a Taco Bell to kill themselves? It just didn’t make any sense to me whatsoever.”
Watch the video we’ve posted on our website that shows how Art cracks this case and persuades the medical examiner to change her cause of death determination – a rare and substantial feat. With the death finally ruled an accident by the examiner, the insurance company is forced to pay up 100 percent of its claim to our client.
